News, everybody!

I'm on ghost now.

This is a post to both announce that I've made the shift from Substack to ghost and also to see if this works! I'm a little nervous about shifting platforms, which I have done with this very bookletter one time before, as some of you may remember. For a while, I used tinyletter, then switched to substack, which has fun social features, and I'll miss those aspects of it, but...I don't agree with a lot of Substack's shit! And while I don't agree with basically any company or business in our capitalistic society, and I'm not really one to boycott Amazon or anything, I do have a genuine fear of Big Tech.

Substack seems to be getting more popular, which gives the guys who own it more power. Now that twitter is unusable, morally and functionally, and meta is well on its way to being the same, I do care about substack's underwhelming approach to content moderation because I do think it lends itself to signs of something much worse.

The tldr; is I think substack might end up like a twitter or a facebook, run by billionaire maniacs with so much power and a hard on for fascism. I don't want to publish my stupid little blogs on a website known for being nice to Nazis.

Anyway, on your end, hopefully nothing changes! If you are a paid subscriber, you still are. (But may need to create a login here, sorry!) And if you're a reader fo' free, you're still for free. I'm paid through Stripe so that part shouldn't change on your end.
