featuring protests, and protests, and protests

I don't know why I can't find any "news" coverage or coverage in general about Hillary Clinton's book tour stop in Seattle this past weekend, but I was there and it feels like I should mark the occasion with some reflection.
Clinton's latest book, Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love, and Liberty, came out toward the end of September 2024. While not her first book, she's using the opportunity to tour, discussing stories within the book that range from familial memories and the loss of dear friends to her unwavering commitment to Afghan women and girls and, it sounds like, a lot of Trump-bashing. (I have not read this or any of Clinton's books.)
I have turned away from political commentary from politicians. I've not turned a blind eye to politics because I believe politics are deeply rooted in every aspect of society and personhood, but I've become less of a political stan. I was thinking about younger me and the number of shirts I had that touted Obama the man or Obama the policies. In 2016, I had shirts that read Nasty Woman, shirts that were pro-Planned Parenthood, and shirts that fully had Clinton's face on them. It's not that I disagree with those things now; it's that somewhere along the way, I stopped believing in politicians and started believing in people and community.
